Industrial Gym

Inside the luxury apartment building The Dean, we set out to design a minimalist gym that honors both the building’s industrial heritage and the elegance of the Art Deco era in which it was born. A palette of muted black and white defines the space—from the walls and flooring to the equipment—echoing the enduring sophistication of early 20th-century design. To soften the gym’s strong, masculine lines, we introduced mirrors with eased edges, bringing a gentle warmth and balance to the space.

In the public restrooms, we embraced a more playful spirit. Bold tile patterns and rich wall colors incorporate subtle Art Deco motifs, adding an element of surprise and delight to these often-overlooked spaces. We even included a cheerful dog wash station—tiled in a modern, graphic pattern that nods to the black-and-white palette of the Deco period—combining practicality with a wink of charm.
