The Dean - In Progress
Teaming up with Travis Hyde Properties, we embarked on a full gut transformative journey to breathe new life into a historic office building, meticulously preserving its architectural integrity while paying homage to its storied past. Originally a storage warehouse with horse stalls in the 1920s, this building witnessed the vibrant Art Deco era of New York. Our goal was to honor its industrial heritage while embracing the spirit of the Art Deco movement.
Focusing on subtle sophistication and timeless elegance, we carefully considered every design element, infusing each with intricate detail. Custom axminster carpets subtly nod to the building's equestrian past, while bespoke kitchen cabinets adorned with fluted details and fluted glass barn doors add a touch of refinement and charm. Lighting sourced from NYC-based designers illuminate the spaces with understated brilliance.
Throughout the public areas, murals grace the walls, weaving a narrative of our client's affection for Ithaca, nature, and avian wonders. These artistic expressions serve as delightful surprises, inviting residents and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of the building's history and the vibrant essence of its surroundings.
